Resurfacing in Wilson requires road, lane closures
A portion of Forest Hills Road NW will temporarily close this week for repaving, followed by nightly lane closures. A state highway contractor will do milling and repaving operations along nearly two miles of Forest Hills Road between Raleigh Road Parkway West near Forest Hills Middle School and Ward Boulevard near the Walgreens.
The crews plan to close Forest Hills Road between Canal Drive and Ward Boulevard starting June 19 at 7 p.m. until the morning of June 21 in order to conduct some of the repaving work. The detour will send drivers along Ward Boulevard (N.C. 42) and U.S. 264 Alternate (Raleigh Road Parkway) to re-access Forest Hills Road Northwest. Drivers should factor the longer commute and be cautious near the barricades and work site.
Nightly Lane Closures Starting June 23, crews will conduct nightly lane closures on Forest Hills Road Northwest to continue the milling and repaving operation. The lane closures will be from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday, with no work happening on Friday or Saturday nights. The work may take up to three weeks to complete, weather permitting. After the road is repaved, the contractor will return later this summer to place permanent, high-visibility lane markings on the resurfaced road

Road closure update: Nash Street
The start date for this infrastructure and streetscape work has been delayed, so we're not exactly sure when the contractors will begin. However, once the work starts, there will be detours in place to help you get around smoothly. We're aiming to have everything wrapped up before school starts back in late August. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we enhance our community! Stay tuned for more updates!
