Wilson Energy competes in annual Lineman's Rodeo
Earlier this month a team from Wilson Energy competed in the 61st annual NC Association of Municipal Electric Systems (NCAMES) Lineman's Rodeo in Concord, NC.
The rodeo tests linemen’s skill in many different areas they face both daily and during storm restoration. Training for and competing in the rodeo keep their skills sharp to serve all our Wilson Energy customers.
The team includes Ryan Black, Dawson Batts, Thomas Morrisette, Logan Whitley, Connor Franks and Brandon Proctor.
Ryan Black came in 5th overall! Congratulations to the entire Wilson Energy team. You made us proud!
Hundreds celebrate stadium project groundbreaking
Hundreds of people came out for the stadium groundbreaking ceremony on May 9. City officials along with our partners -- Wilson County Government, NSV Development, Wilson County Tourism Development Authority, and the Milwaukee Brewers/Carolina Mudcats -- joined in the ceremony at the site of the the new stadium that will host its first game in spring 2026.
It might be minor league ball, but Wilson's reception was nothing less than major league. We sincerely thank everyone who came out for the groundbreaking and listened to Milwaukee Brewers General Manager Matt Arnold and others speak about the project.
Pictured are the officials who made remarks at the ceremony: Mayor Carlton Stevens, County Commissioner Chair Rob Boyette, Mayor Pro Tem James Johnson, Michael Lemanski with NSV, Tourism Chair Charlie Bedgood, Rick Schlesinger (Milwaukee Brewers President), Matt Arnold (Milwaukee Brewers General Manager), and City Manager Grant Goings.
