Join us Tuesday night at Toisnot Park for 40th NNO!
We are going all out for the 40th anniversary of National Night Out with a new location -- Toisnot Park -- and several new activities, including dog/owner costume and dog trick contests, Fishing with a Cop, a community walk around the lake and skating competitions!
Here are the details:
Time and location: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Toisnot Park, 1500 Corbett Ave. We are expecting a good crowd so come early and be patient. Parking will be available within the small lots in and around Toisnot Park. Curbside and parallel parking will be allowed along Lawndale Drive down the middle of the park. Extra parking will be provided in the grassy area across from the playground. Parking will also be open around the ball fields on the far side. Attendees can cross the bridge to attend events. There will be golf carts to assist people who need a lift from distant spaces.
Rain date: As of Monday, there's a chance of storms Tuesday. If a decision is made to postpone, the raindate would be 6-8 p.m. this Friday, all other details remaining the same.
Cost: All activities are free, but we will have three food trucks: Everette's Concessions, selling hot dogs, hamburgers, pork BBQ, fries, nachos, and funnel cake; Taste of Texas: Mexican Street food and snow-cones; and 3 Star Kettle Corn, selling various flavors of kettle corn in different sizes. Prices will be posted at each food truck.
Things to see: Multiple law enforcement and emergency agencies will be on hand with display vehicles and interactive booths, including police, fire, sheriff, emergency management and many non-profit agencies.
Entertainment: DJ music, family games, food vendors, a kids zone and a mix of about 30 community vendors. Door prizes donated by the vendors will be given away every 15 minutes.

So please make plans to join us by 6 p.m. Tuesday, support our food vendors, learn more about our agencies, and just have a great time!
