Housing & Neighborhood Reinvestment Plan Available for Review
Here's your chance to have a say in neighborhood revitalization plans in Wilson! All are invited to attend a community meeting to discuss the city's draft Housing and Neighborhood Reinvestment Plan. The October 26 meeting will provide an overview of the plan's purpose, major findings, and possible next steps. Meeting attendees will have an opportunity to give feedback on proposed next steps to help prioritize the many different actions proposed in the plan.

Police collecting food for pantry at two sites Oct. 26
The Wilson Police Department will holding food drives next Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 4-7 p.m., at both the Neighborhood Wal-Mart on Ward Boulevard, near Brentwood, and at Fred's Food Club on Tarboro Street, near Forest Hills Drive.
The drive is hosted by the Special Operation Division. Donations of nonperishable, shelf-stable and canned food are all welcome. Specific items needed are peanut butter, pasta (whole grain preferred), canned meat (SPAM and Ham), canned vegetables, canned chicken, canned fish (tuna and salmon), canned fruit, as well as beans and lentils. Other popular items are rice, nuts, pasta sauce, granola bars, powdered milk, whole-grain cereal, applesauce, crackers, cooking oil (olive and canola), instant mashed potatoes, soup, stew, and chili, meals in a box, dried herbs and spices.
The Wilson Police Department maintains a food pantry year-round to help citizens in need. It also does special distributions at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please help them help our neighbors in need by donating!.
