Lanier Tree Services to Begin Stump Grinding Contract in January 2025
Lanier Tree Services was scheduled to start work on the city-wide stump grinding contract the week of December 16, 2024. However, delays in underground utility locating services have pushed the start date to the first week of January 2025.
The contract involves the removal of 330 stumps of varying sizes, ranging from 7 inches to over 90 inches in diameter. These stumps are located within city Right-of-Ways, and the project is expected to take several weeks to complete.
This contract does not include all stumps in public rights-of-way. Existing stumps not listed here will be removed either by City crews or under another contract. As part of the city's ongoing commitment to urban forestry, street trees will be replanted in appropriate locations following stump removal, in alignment with the annual planting contract.
Residents should anticipate the work at the 330 designated locations and are encouraged to contact the city’s forestry department with any questions or concerns.
