Empower | NC 401(k) and NC 457 Plans

The NC 401(k) and NC 457 Plans will be upgraded to an improved online experience. During this upgrade, there will be a short period of time when you will not be able to make transactions in your account. This begins Thursday, Feb. 1, at 4 p.m. and lasts until Tuesday, Feb. 6.

What You Can Look Forward To:

  • Automatic account transfer – Your NC 401(k) and/or NC 457 Plan account(s), current investment, and contribution rates will automatically transfer to the new online experience.
  • New website – You will be able to manage your account with the help of enhanced planning features and tools.

  • New app – The Empower app provides on-the-go access to your NC 401(k) and/or NC 457 Plan account and features and is available for iOS and Android.

  • Expanded call center hours – Customer Care Center representatives are available at 866-NCPlans (866-627-5267) with additional weekday hours and new Saturday hours.

What To Do Today:

  • Confirm your personal information – Access your account and confirm your personal information like your email address, home address, beneficiaries, etc. It is important that you have the most up-to-date information before the migration. 

  • Make updates or changes to your plan – If you would like to make changes to your contributions (i.e. increase/decrease or add), please do so prior to Jan. 30. Changes after this date will not be made until after Feb. 6.

Package Delivered to Government Center is Missing

Per a FedEx notification, a package was delivered to the Government Center last Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. The package was from Staples and contained ink cartridges. If you know where the package is, please contact Kristy Hawver with Union County Water.
