Advanced Math Course (AMC) Window Now Open*
The report window for the Advanced Math Course (AMC) report opened as of Thursday, October 1, and will remain open through October 15, 2026. During this year’s data collection process, LEAs will be required to run and review the report to prepare for the NCDPI data pull, which will happen immediately after the report window closes. Again, this year, LEAs will have the opportunity to complete a brief survey to correct the data for any students who appear incorrectly on the AMC report. There will be a survey entry for each student who needs data correction. All data correction surveys must be completed by Monday, October 26, 2026, by the end of the business day.
To support district personnel with running and reviewing the report, as well as correcting any data, the following resources will be available:
As a reminder, LEAs are expected to run and review the report both at the school and LEA levels for all schools offering grades 6 and higher. AMC report submission is optional for Charter schools.
The AMC Report within Infinite Campus shows enrollment counts and demographic information for both students who are currently placed in an advanced mathematics course and students not placed in an advanced mathematics course for all students who achieved at the highest level on an End of Grade (EOG) or End of Course (EOC) mathematics assessment during the 2025-26 school year.
In reviewing the data – ensure that all students who are eligible (all those scoring at the highest level on an end-of-grade or end-of-course mathematics assessment) are listed on the student-level detail report. Then verify that the student’s course placement information is accurate. For each student appearing in the table, the previous year's assessment and score are listed, along with ‘placed’ or ‘not placed’—as determined by the student’s current mathematics course enrollment.
In addition, this year, the data team has updated the logic of the AMC report to include those students who may have earned a Level 5 on either the NC Math 1 or NC Math 3 end-of-course assessments in the fall semester and immediately took an advanced course in the spring or summer thereafter. The updated logic will be installed into production by Friday, October 2, 2026. *Note: for students who enroll in more than one advanced math course per year, users will see information for each math course a student has enrolled in after the assessment in which the Level 5 was earned. While this information is available on the student-level detail tab, these students will not be duplicated in the summary tables. In addition, users may find an updated view of the student-level detail table to be organized by school number rather than school name.
Please contact Stephanie Cyrus at stephanie.cyrus@dpi.nc.gov with the Office of Advanced Learning and Gifted Education with questions.

Data Quality Focus*
Welcome to our new section, Data Quality Focus! Each edition will highlight specific types of data to review, audit and/or correct, helping improve data quality and consistency across the state.
The Time is HERE! NEW PMR Detail Reports are LIVE!
New PMR reports came with the new version installed on the evening of October 1, 2026. There are a lot of new opportunities with the PMR Reports, but it is a LOT of information! To help keep you from being overwhelmed, there are a series of new articles to lead you through a process to use these reports to validate your PMR. You may use them as a reference (such as when you have a certain FATAL or WARNING error), or you can use it to lead you through the whole process. Please check them out at:

NCSIS Now*
NCSIS Now highlights timely processes, helpful tips, or important reminders that you can put to use right away.
Updated Student Search
The Student Search tool was updated to version 1.1 on the evening of October 1, 2026. Full updates can be found here, but some exciting ones are listed below!
- An 'All Schools' version of Student Search now exists. This is accessed by changing the Campus Calendar selector to 'All Schools' while viewing the Student Search tool.
- User Group Override
- A User Group Override tab has been added to the Settings page (Settings > User Group Overrides). This tab allows for specific User Groups to override the filter permissions from the General Settings tab.
- Example: A district may hide the Homeless filter on the General Settings page to prevent users from seeing this filter but then add a 'Social Worker' user group with permission to view the Homeless filter. This will allow members of the 'Social Worker' user group to see the Homeless filter, but it will remain hidden from all other users of Student Search.
- Multi-Name Search
- This filter allows you to search multiple names at a time separated by either commas or new lines. There are 3 categories for Multi Name Search:
- Exact—Match the full name exactly (First Last Format i.e. John Smith)
- Contains—Finds the names that include your text: best for partial names
- Similar—Finds close matches for misspellings: may return multiple results
NEW Entry and Withdrawal Reason Fields
These new fields were added to the Enrollment tool on the evening of October 1, 2026. Please see this new article for details:
Entry and Withdrawal Reason | NC Department of Public Instruction
Note that these fields are not required at this time.

REMINDERS:
Master Course Code List Update
The “SY 26.27 Master Course Code List 09.24.26 V5” has been updated to reflect the following:
- Full Courses Tab—Added Credit of “1(Middle)” to all Middle School Art Courses that meet the Arts Education Graduation Requirement in SBE policy GRAD-004.
- Purpose:
-
Credit "1"—Updates are being made to ensure the NC Official Transcript indicates when a student has passed the applicable course and met the Arts Education Graduation Requirement, regardless of the grading scale locally approved for middle school. This grade scale requirement is outlined in State Board of Education policy GRAD-009.
-
Credit Type—MS > Middle must remain as Credit Type so that HS GPAs are not affected and the course does not appear on the North Carolina Transcript.
- Future Changes Needed (ACTION IS NOT REQUIRED BY PSUs at this TIME in NCSIS):
- Course Final Grading Task will need to show a credit of 1
- DPI will run a script to populate this. Date TBD.
- Courses not currently graded on a 4-point grading scale
- Adjustments will be needed, please watch for future NCDPI Communication.
- Timeline for showing requirement complete on NC Official Transcript: TBD.

CTE Reporting Update
Pathway names have been updated in Academic Programs within Infinite Campus. Please reference the instructions for identifying CTE concentrator status in Infinite Campus linked below:
http://go.ncdpi.gov/cteconcentrator
As CTE staff are validating concentrator status in the NCSIS, the following questions/issues are the most common. If you are experiencing issues with your NC CTE Extract, please troubleshoot these scenarios first.
- Student is completely missing from the NC CTE Extract
- Cause: No Academic Programs are assigned to the student
- Solution: Add the correct Academic Program (page 3 of instructions)
- Student is on the NC CTE Extract but is missing their pathway
- Cause: The Academic Program for that pathway is not assigned to the student
- Solution: Add the correct Academic Program (page 3 of instructions)
- Student is on the NC CTE Extract with the correct pathway/program, but the status is incorrect (and you have already verified that they have credit on their transcript for the required courses in the designated pathway)
- Cause: Update Student Status was not successfully run when the student completed the pathway
- Solution: Run Update Student Status (page 4 of instructions).
At this time, we expect the NC CTE Extract to correctly display concentrator status when all steps in the instructions have been completed.
Potential concentrator status is still in progress for 2026-2027. Please continue identifying potential concentrators for Fall 2026 based on your current course rosters. An update will be posted when the auto program assignment for current course enrollments is fully functional.

Clarification: Membership for Students with IEPs
To be counted in membership, students must be enrolled for at least 50% of the instructional day. There is no special FTE for students with IEPs who attend fewer than half of the school’s instructional day.
- Students attending 50% or more of the instructional day are included in membership.
- Students attending less than 50% of the instructional day are reported as visiting students.
This guidance aligns with existing SASA policy and ensures consistent reporting across PSUs.
For questions, please refer to the SASA Manual link below or contact the Office of School Business Services.

CRDC Coordination Brief
CRDC Coordination Brief: New CRDC Contact Step: Update Both Systems
As we prepare for the SY2025–26 Civil Rights Data Collection, PSUs should ensure CRDC Coordinator information is current in both the federal CRDC submission system and EDDIE.
Federal CRDC ContactsThe federal CRDC team maintains its collection contacts through the federal submission system. These contacts receive federal communications and information needed to establish system access. To add or update a CRDC Coordinator, contact the CRDC Partner Support Center using the Contact Us Form.
EDDIE ContactsReview your PSU’s CRDC contacts in EDDIE and submit needed updates by October 1. NCDPI uses EDDIE contacts for state CRDC communications, resources, and collection support. PSUs are encouraged to maintain two CRDC Coordinators. Visit the NCDPI EDDIE webpage for instructions and assistance.
Keeping both sources current helps ensure the appropriate staff receive federal and NCDPI information throughout the collection.
Contact the SEA CRDC Coordinator with any questions at NC.OCR.CRDC@dpi.nc.gov.
