Arts Validation Update*
NCDPI updated and published optimized versions of the Arts Education Graduation Requirements HS Validation rules on Thursday, 9/10/2026.
All three rules have been optimized to run more efficiently when selecting to run the validation report at All Schools in the 26-27 year or selecting to run at an individual school calendar context.
-
(NC) Arts Education Graduation Requirement HS Validation
- (NC) Arts Ed Grad Req - HS Met
- (NC) Arts Ed Grad Req - HS Not Met - No Qualifying Course is Scheduled
- (NC) Arts Ed Grad Req - HS Not Met - Qualifying Course is Scheduled
- Formatted Schedule Term to reflect start and end
- Examples:
- Q3 for quarter-long course
- Q1-Q2 or Q3-Q4 for semester-long course
- Q1-Q4 for year-long course
- Will pull other term setups for courses
- Formatted Roster Start and End Dates to show Date as YYYY-MM-DD
- Roster End Date can reflect the withdrawal of a student from course.
- Formatted Term Start and End Dates to show Date as YYYY-MM-DD
- Added three new columns to each of the above rules:
-
Graduation Grade 9 Entry Date - validation looks here first to determine eligibility; if null:
-
Enrollment Grade 9 Entry Date - validation uses grade 9 enrollment date if Graduation Grade 9 entry date is Null/Blank.
-
Grade 9 Date Used - lists which of the above Grade 9 dates is used to determine eligibility for the validation report only - Graduation Date or Enrollment Date.
- If both Grade 9 values are null/blank, a student will not appear in this report.
-
IMPORTANT: Review and correct any blanks or errors in the NCSIS student record.

NCSIS Now*
Welcome to our newest feature, NCSIS Now! Each week, we’ll highlight some timely processes, helpful tips, or important reminders that you can put to use right away.
Reminder: Duplicates Prevent Syncing to ALL Downstream Systems!
Please be reminded that duplicate Person records in District Edition sites cause sync issues to the State Edition. Before reporting a sync issue in any downstream systems, double check the (NC) UID Errors Data Validation Report as well as the Student Information > Duplicate IDs report to confirm there isn't a local duplicate. Many local duplicates can be merged without DPI assistance: NCSIS QRD: Combining Persons at the PSU Level - Google Docs. Any issues using the Combine Person Wizard should be reported to Infinite Campus Support. Any duplicates with UID discrepancies should be reported to NCDPI at https://go.ncdpi.gov/uidhelp.

CRDC Coordination Brief
CRDC Coordination Brief: New CRDC Contact Step: Update Both Systems
As we prepare for the SY2025–26 Civil Rights Data Collection, PSUs should ensure CRDC Coordinator information is current in both the federal CRDC submission system and EDDIE.
Federal CRDC ContactsThe federal CRDC team maintains its collection contacts through the federal submission system. These contacts receive federal communications and information needed to establish system access. To add or update a CRDC Coordinator, contact the CRDC Partner Support Center using the Contact Us Form.
EDDIE ContactsReview your PSU’s CRDC contacts in EDDIE and submit needed updates by October 1. NCDPI uses EDDIE contacts for state CRDC communications, resources, and collection support. PSUs are encouraged to maintain two CRDC Coordinators. Visit the NCDPI EDDIE webpage for instructions and assistance.
Keeping both sources current helps ensure the appropriate staff receive federal and NCDPI information throughout the collection.
Contact the SEA CRDC Coordinator with any questions at NC.OCR.CRDC@dpi.nc.gov.
