WHAT'S NEW:
State Graduation Requirement Program Updates*
NCDPI will publish all state graduation requirement programs on Thursday, July 23, 2026 by close of business day for the following reasons. This will not affect current assignments of state grad programs to students.
- Show the assigned NC FRC/FRCO Graduation Requirement Program flags on students
- Publish the new 2026 NC FRC Grad Requirement Program
- Publishing grad programs reconnects Academic Planning > Course Plan after PSUs corrected the TK grade level and resequenced grade levels for high schools
- 2025 NC FRCO Graduation Requirement Program’s CTE pathway updated with new CTE elective course codes.
- Updated the program's Academic Start Year to be 28-29, the Cohort End Year of students that entered 9th grade in 2025-26 for program assignment criteria to function correctly.
- This program applies to students with a 9th grade entry date of 7/1/2025 or later.
2026 NC FRC Graduation Requirements Program Published*
The 2026 NC FRC Graduation Requirements Program was published to PSUs on Thursday, July 23, 2026. This program applies to students with a 9th grade entry date of 7/1/2026 or later. NCSIS 2623.13 Upgrade*
NCSIS, powered by Infinite Campus, was upgraded to 2623.13 on July 22, 2026. Please ensure this information is shared with the appropriate staff members.

Attendance
Attendance Bug Fixes (SIS-197697)
- The ADM and ADA Detail Report, generated as a CSV, now provides totals for multiple schools.
- The capability to track consecutive course absences has been added to the Consecutive Absence Report.
Grading Setup
Pushing Course and Master Data - Inactive Courses (SIS-169103) [Enhancement]
Options for inactive courses have been added to the Push All Course Masters tool:
- Push Mode of 'Push locked data' - new option: Push to inactive courses
- Push Mode of 'Overwrite' - new option: Include inactive courses
An option to Include inactive courses has also been added to the Push All Courses tool and to pushing individual course masters. The Course Status tool now displays inactive courses with '(Inactive)' appended to the name.
Messenger
Sent Message Log 2.0 (SIS-198438) [Enhancement]
- This enhancement allows Sent Message Log 2.0 users using 'All Messages' view to search for messages by the name of the person who created the message.
- This enhancement allows the Sent Message Log 2.0 users with the "All Messages" view to search for messages containing an attachment.
- This enhancement allows users to filter the Sent Message Log 2.0 by all eligible Delivery Modes (Inbox, Email, Voice, and Text).
North Carolina Specific Updates
North Carolina – ALPS Report Updates (SIS-197520)
The following updates have been made to the ALPS Roster Report:
- The Include Records with No School Information checkbox has been removed from the Extract Editor.
- The SchoolID and SchoolName fields in the Report Layout are now based on the Referring School value entered on the ALPS Program Record.
- Report logic has been updated to use the Referring School value, instead of determining a student's prior enrollment.
- New reporting logic has been added for ReferringSchoolID, ReferringSchoolName, and GradeCode.
- The Report Layout has been updated to meet state requirements, including the following new fields:
- EnrollmentStartDate
- EnrollmentStartStatus
- EnrollmentEndDate
- EnrollmentEndStatus
North Carolina – New Referring School Field on ALPS Program Record (SIS-197721)
A new Referring School field has been added to the ALPS Program Record. This is a required field that lists all schools within the district and the option '00000D: Out of District'. The ALPS Roster Report has also been updated to report Referring School information.
North Carolina – AIG AMC Report Math Course (SIS-198238)
For the AMC Data Validation reports, Course 2C185X0 (MAT175 Precalculus) is now included in the list of math courses.
North Carolina – Early Learning Enrollment Types (SIS-198252)
Three new Early Learning Enrollment Types have been added to the Early Learning Program record:
- Smart Start
- Private Grant
- Other
North Carolina - NEW Early Learning Program Settings (SIS-198065)
Two new Settings have been added to the Early Learning Program:
6: Exceptional Children Service Provider Location
7: To be determined
North Carolina – Default Admission Status (SIS-198342) [Enhancement]
All student enrollments now require the Admission Status field on enrollments to be set to MST1: Member – Standard Day Program. While this default value was displayed on the enrollment record, it was not always stored in the database when the field is left blank. This has been corrected.
NC ALPS Extract—Action Required by August 21, 2026*
Updates to the NC ALPS Extract were released with Campus.2623.13 on July 22, 2026. The updated report is now available in production, and the new submission deadline is August 21, 2026.
Please run the report against your 2025-26 calendars and verify the results before the deadline.
Required Action
- Add a Referring School to any existing ALPS Program records that do not already have one.
Reporting Changes

EL Data in Infinite Campus*
This information was shared by NCDPI through other newsletters and is being shared here for transparency:
NCDPI will reclassify all students who met the exit criteria on the 2026 WIDA ACCESS or WIDA Alternate ACCESS assessments. These reclassifications are expected to appear during the week of July 13.
As you review reports in Infinite Campus (IC), please be aware that data for students identified as English learners is still under review. This includes information displayed in the Expected MMT Report and Goal Reports.
Until this review is complete, EL data in IC may change. Please use caution when interpreting reports or making decisions based on English learner data during this time.
Additionally, please keep in mind that some Public School Units (PSUs) may not yet have completed their rollover to the 2026–27 school year, which may also affect the data you see.
We will notify you as soon as NCDPI has completed its review and the data is considered final. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Mapping the State Computer Science Credit Type*
NCDPI recently republished the HS Credit Group that now includes the new credit type of Comp Sci (Computer Science - which is required in the 2026-27 NC FRC Graduation Requirements Program) to all PSUs. This prevents assigning and use of current NC FRC/FRCO Grad Programs.

REMINDERS:
ECATS Beginning-of-Year Process (BOY) Complete
ECATS has completed its Beginning-of-Year (BOY) process for the majority of the state. Data for the 2026-2027 school year has been loaded. This includes new students and updated NCSIS data.
The process to update final graduation data in ECATS will occur after the August deadline for entry of graduation data into the SIS. Once this file is processed, students who need to be graduated will be exited in ECATS. After that point, districts will be able to select the Modified Exit Reason in ECATS for the 2025-2026 Exit Count and these students will no longer appear active in ECATS.
Also, please be aware that new charters will not be included in ECATS until the SIS State Edition has been synced with their data. Once this occurs, ECATS will consume the new charter data and students with enrollments in these charters will be available.
To aid in confirming that ECATS has received all data for the new school year, a validation report has been provided in the SIS, (NC) ECATS Integration Active Year Data Validations. Please work with your SIS Data Manager to run this report to verify that your calendars have been set up correctly.

Finalizing Calendars
- Calendar Information - New School Year | NC Department of Public Instruction
- Student Day - Must equal instructional minutes students receive each day
- Teacher Day - Must equal instructional plus non-instructional minutes students are present each day
- Whole Day Absence - Must equal the first whole number past half of student day
- Half Day Absence - Must equal Whole Day Absence
- Day Events update and reminder - Calendar Setup | NC Department of Public Instruction
- *NEW* There are Day Events in this article that need to be deactivated and not used this year
- Instructional minutes must be added in Day Setup if an AD Day Event is used
- Period Schedule cleanup
- Verify all instructional periods are NOT checked as non-instructional
- Verify lunch setup
- Exception/Special Day period setup - New School Year | NC Department of Public Instruction
- The total instructional minutes scheduled for a typical student in this period schedule should match the instructional minutes defined on the day event associated with the same day.
- Copy Section Placements to make sure all sections are placed into the new period schedules

26-27 Course Master List Updates
Districts reported that some of the designated Computer Science credit type courses were not aligned to the “Comp Sci” credit type in the SY 26.27 Master Course Code List. NCDPI verified this and the list has been updated and reposted as version 4c.

Campus Passport is a collection of on-demand, self-paced courses that can be assigned to new and existing staff. Accessed through the Campus Community, you will find Instructor-Led Training, specific E-Learning courses, or select a learning plan based on your district role.
NCSIS Knowledge Base | NC Department of Public Instruction contains articles, video recordings and other resources about North Carolina processes.
GitHub Vendor Integrations Repository is a website where examples of 3rd party extract formats can be found (these are crowd sourced and should be vetted fully before implementing in your PSU).
Ad Hoc Filter Sharing Community is a shared Google folder for Ad Hoc filters that PSUs have created. Please add any helpful filters/reports you have created, and use others as you need. These are not guaranteed to work in your PSU and should be vetted fully.
