WHAT'S NEW:
AIG Automated Transfer and Notification Update*
The AIG transfer event and action feature in the Infinite Campus production instances is LIVE for PSUs. The NCDPI internal testing team has confirmed that the feature, which generates automated email notifications to the locally determined group of users when any student transfers into the PSU with a prior AIG record, is now functioning as intended. In addition to the email notifications, this functionality also provides more immediate access to a student’s AIG program record so that the district or charter school can determine how to support and serve the newly enrolled student.
Throughout the rollout of the new process, there have been a few updates to maximize the benefits of the functionality.
1. While each PSU has a Notifications group already set up, the PSU will need to add users to the group and ensure that the General Contact Reason box is checked for the work email address of the user on the Demographics tool.
 2. The functionality is now connected to calendar rights; thus limiting the access to student information to those who have rights in NCSIS.
3. Because the email notifications are not retroactive, the NCDPI team is working to develop a new Data Validation Report named (NC) AIG Transfers to generate a list of all students within a PSU who have prior Gifted Program history and do not have a current gifted record within the PSU. Running the (NC) AIG Transfers data validation report will replace the need to have lists distributed to each district. We will send an announcement when the report is live in production. At that time SIS Coordinators should ensure that the correct personnel have access to this data validation report.
For additional information, please review the “Events & Action” guidance document. The document contains screenshots and detailed instructions/notes about how the functionality works to support AIG Coordinators in finding AIG transfer students. If you have questions, please contact Stephanie Cyrus.
Entering School Start and End Times*
PSUs should enter School Start Time and School End Time directly on the School Information page in the SIS.
Pathway: Landing Page → School & District Settings → Schools → School Information
On the School Detail screen:
- Scroll to School Start Time and School End Time
- Enter the time the school day begins and ends for students
- Click Save School in the upper left corner
For reporting purposes, data is captured at the school level, not by individual calendar. If a school has multiple calendars, it should enter the earliest start time and the latest end time for the school as a whole.
*Please note that this process is temporary and may change for next school year. Additional guidance will be provided once the updated process is finalized.
3-Year Accelerated Graduation Pathway Flag Reminder*
Reminder: 3-Year Accelerated Graduation Pathway Flag – Action Required
This is a reminder to complete the required data update for the 3-Year Accelerated Graduation Pathway flag.
NCDPI deployed the 3-Year Accelerated Graduation Pathway flag in NCSIS-IC to support required state and legislative reporting under SBE policy GRAD-006 (Session Law 2023-134, House Bill 259).
PSUs should ensure the following actions are completed:
- Apply the flag to currently enrolled students participating in the 3-Year Accelerated Graduation Pathway.
- Apply the flag to students who graduated earlier in SY 25-26 and participated in the 3-Year Accelerated Graduation Pathway
- Ensure written documentation confirming student agreement is maintained prior to assigning the flag.
The flag will support accurate state reporting to the North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA).
Eligibility criteria and additional guidance is available here: https://ncdepartmentofpublicinstruction.knowledgeowl.com/home/three-year-accelerated-graduate
Please complete this required update by Friday, March 27. Thank you for your attention to this required update.

Upcoming Training Information*
Upcoming Training Sessions & Webinars:
Upcoming Training: End-of-Year (EOY) Resources and Support:
To support PSUs with End-of-Year (EOY) processes, the SIS Professional Learning team will be providing a series of recorded EOY training sessions that PSUs can view at their convenience.
Along with the recordings, a shared Q&A document will be available for PSUs to submit questions related to the EOY processes. The SIS PL team will review submitted questions and post responses so that all PSUs can view the questions and answers.
In addition, the SIS PL team will host EOY Office Hours to review commonly asked questions and provide additional clarification. PSUs will have the opportunity to attend these sessions and receive further guidance.
EOY recordings and related resources are expected to be available by mid-April. Additional details and links will be shared in upcoming NCSIS Weekly Bulletins.
Be sure to review the DTL Signature Events Calendar and Eventbrite for upcoming in-person and virtual regional meetings, webinars, and training sessions. These opportunities are designed to keep staff connected, informed, and supported throughout the school year.

Charter School Corner*
Message from the Office of School Business Services at NCDPI:
Charter Schools are exempt from legislated requirements for school start and end dates. All schools of any type are required by law to enter the following school calendar information in the SIS by April 1. The information will be pulled directly from the SIS on April 2—there’s no need to submit it separately.
- 2026-2027 Instructional Start and End Dates (Required)
Please enter your school's instructional start and end dates for the 2026-27 school year into the SIS by April 1. All NC public schools, regardless of type, must provide a minimum of 185 days or 1,025 hours of instruction covering at least nine calendar months.
- 2026-2027 School Month Setup (PMR Reporting Intervals) (Required)
Please enter your school’s PMR Reporting intervals into the SIS by April 1. School Months 1 and 2 must be exactly 20 instructional days each. The remaining intervals (School Months 3-9) should be between 16 and 26 days each.
- 2026-27 Start and Release Times (Required)
Please enter your school’s start and release time into the SIS by April 1. “Start time” is the time of day when academic classes begin for the majority of students enrolled in the school, and “release time” is the time of day when academic classes end for the majority of students enrolled in the school. This information is pulled directly from the SIS.

REMINDERS:
Adjusting Instructional Minutes Due to Weather or Lost Instructional Time
Some PSUs may need to adjust the instructional minutes for the remaining days in the year to make up for lost instructional time due to weather or other events. If adjustments are needed in Infinite Campus, please follow the guidance below.
Do not modify the existing Student Day (instructional minutes) field on the Calendar information tool to reflect changes in instructional minutes. Making adjustments directly to the Calendar Information tool can impact previous months’ PMR reporting when they are rerun along with PMR Month 9.
Instead, it is recommended that PSUs:
- Create a new Period Schedule to reflect the adjusted instructional minutes. This will be done in the Period Setup tool.
- Associate the new Period Schedule only to the specific days where the extended instructional time will be used. This will be done in the Day Setup tool.
Before assigning the new Period Schedule to the affected days:
- Back up attendance data from the day the change will take effect through the end of the school year.
- Once the new period schedule(s) are associated to the Days in Day Setup, any attendance that was already recorded for any changed days will need to be added back into the Attendance tool for each student.
*Please note that PMR attendance data may not fully align from the time the change is implemented through the end of the school year.
If you need assistance or have questions before making adjustments, please reach out to your SIS Professional Learning Consultant for guidance.

School Business Services Deadlines
April 1st Deadlines:
The following school calendar information must be entered in the SIS by April 1, even if your school is exempt from start/end date requirements. The information will be pulled directly from the SIS on April 2—there’s no need to submit it separately.
- 2026-2027 Instructional Start and End Dates (Required) Please enter your school's instructional start and end dates for the 2026-27 school year into the SIS by April 1. All NC public schools, regardless of type, must provide a minimum of 185 days or 1,025 hours of instruction covering at least nine calendar months. Most PSUs are required to comply with calendar start/end date requirements. Unless the PSU is in an exempt category (SASA, p. 54) or has received an approved calendar waiver for the 2026-27 school year, the start date should be no earlier than August 24, 2026, and the end date should be no later than June 11, 2027. https://kb.infinitecampus.com/help/day-setup

Spring LCS Report Update
The Spring LCS report is being updated and is not ready for PSU review at this time. We will keep you informed and will send out a notification once the report is available for districts to begin reviewing and submitting.
|
Course Updates
- New versions of Course Master Lists for 25-26 and 26-27 have been posted
- Recommended practice for creating new 26-27 Course Master/Courses in the 26-27 calendar and keep set grading tasks from a 25-26 Course Master:
-
Copy the 25-26 Course Master
- Create a new course that is linked to that new course master for each calendar.
Course Masters exist at the district level, not the calendar level. This means:
- Course Masters are shared across all years/calendars.
- Any change made to a Course Master (such as updating its catalog assignment or state course code) will apply retroactively and forward to every year that uses that Course Master number.
For questions on crosswalking new 26-27 CTE course codes, please contact your PSU CTE lead for that list.

Records Request Survey
Action Needed: Records Request Process Form:
To ensure clarity and consistency across PSUs, please complete the form indicating how you would like other PSUs to request student records from your school(s).
Responses will be compiled into a statewide list and shared to help guide appropriate records request procedures and prevent miscommunication between districts.

Pre-Registration Guidance for Transfer Students
PSUs may pre-register students into a future school year calendar (e.g., 2026–27), including students currently enrolled in another NC PSU.
Important reminders:
-
DO NOT request or transfer student records before July 1. Requesting records prior to the active year switch may cause the request to be interpreted as a transfer rather than a pre-registration.
- Be mindful of local vs. state active year settings, especially when working with third-party vendor integrations.
- Local active year settings may impact PSUs downstream/third party data. It is recommended PSUs discuss this impact with all third party vendors prior to changing the active year.
- State active year controls state pulled downstream data (ie Amplify, NCEdCloud, SchoolNet etc) and will change on July 1.
- For more information on the impacted third party data see slides 47-49 in the following presentation: https://go.ncdpi.gov/7dhqw
PSUs should have a local process in place to ensure records are requested and transferred after July 1, once the active year has rolled forward.

CRDC Coordinators Brief
Verify CRDC Contacts in EDDIE
As we begin early preparation for the SY2025–26 Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC), which will be submitted in SY2026–27, NCDPI is verifying CRDC points of contact to support accurate and timely communication.
Each PSU should review and update CRDC contact information in the EDDIE system. Please ensure that up to two CRDC Coordinators and one Student Information Coordinator are listed.
Maintaining current entries ensures that guidance and collection updates reach the appropriate staff. As staff roles change, update CRDC contact information in EDDIE to maintain accurate outreach.
Contact the SEA CRDC Coordinator with any questions at NC.OCR.CRDC@dpi.nc.gov

Action Required: Calendar Roll-Forward Deadline—April 1
All calendars—including program calendars—must be rolled forward by April 1 for state reporting purposes. This step is required to prepare for the 2026–27 school year.
What is Calendar Roll-Forward? Calendar Roll-Forward is the process of copying data from one calendar into another to create the new school year’s database.
Key reminders:
- The 2026-27 school year must be created before rolling forward any calendars.
- The new year will not appear in the context until at least one calendar is rolled forward.
For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Infinite Campus Knowledge Base: School Year Setup | Infinite Campus.
For North Carolina-specific information (including rolling forward program calendars), please refer to this article: Create Future Calendars | NC Department of Public Instruction
