WHAT: North Carolina Career and Technical Education (CTE) students earned a record number of industry-recognized credentials during the 2024-2025 academic year, and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) will host a press conference to share about the CTE Credential Attainment Report.
The media conference will feature state CTE leaders and superintendents from three top-performing districts who will share strategies for preparing students for high-demand careers.
WHEN: Wednesday, February 4, 2026. This press conference will be held during the lunch break of the State Board of Education meeting, at approximately 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: The NC Department of Public Instruction, 301 N. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27601. This media conference will take place in Room 150. It will also be livestreamed on Zoom.
WHO: Remarks will be given by NC Superintendent of Public Instruction Maurice "Mo” Green; Trey Michael, senior director of the Office of Career and Technical Education; Dr. Nancy Cross, assistant director of CTE Reporting and Support Services; Dr. Stephen Gainey, superintendent of the Randolph County School System; Dr. Brad Breedlove, superintendent of Pender County Schools and April Thompson, CTE director of Lexington City Schools.
