NC AI Solve-A-Thon
25 amazing teams from across NC presented their AI-powered solutions to real issues in their communities at our virtual pitch fest on Nov. 14. While all of them were amazing, we had to select the 10 top scorers to compete at the state level at NCEd Connect Symposium Feb. 11, 2026, in Greensboro.

January 2026 NCEES Face-to-Face Training for New Administrators
The NCDPI NCEES Team is pleased to offer a second opportunity for new administrators to participate in face-to-face NCEES training sessions in their regions this January. These sessions are designed to support principals and assistant principals in strengthening their understanding and use of the evaluation system.
Session Title: NCEES: Teacher Evaluation Process and Practice for Principals & Assistant Principals
Presented by: NCDPI Regional Education Facilitators (REFs)
Session Description: In this interactive session, participants will explore key NCEES policies and best practices to enhance their leadership and evaluation processes. Topics include:
- Reviewing the teacher evaluation process
- Providing targeted feedback using rubric-based language
- Assigning evaluation plans and access rights
- Navigating the staff evaluation dashboard
- Running reports to track and complete evaluation steps
- Identifying and troubleshooting common pain points

The session is designed to ensure you stay informed, feel supported, and are prepared for the remainder of the evaluation cycle.

To access quick reports, NCEES Site and District Administrators navigate to NCEES > Click the Reporting Tab on the far right > Select the module you wish to run the report on, select Quick Report > Select the report you wish to run

Upcoming CETL Course Opportunity
When: December 12–13, 2025 Where: Drury Inn, Burlington
Join us for a Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) Course designed to help participants prepare for the CETL exam. This professional learning opportunity supports digital education leaders in strengthening their knowledge and leadership practices across the Framework of Essential Skills of the K–12 CTO.
The NC Department of Public Instruction (DPI) will cover the cost of the course. Participants’ PSUs (or the individual) are responsible for travel expenses and the CETL exam fee of $489.
