Newly Updated
The NC Healthful Living Hub is a repository for all Healthful Living stakeholders. The purpose of this hub is to provide a space for Healthful Living stakeholders to explore resources that will assist with planning, instruction, and professional learning with the new 2024 Healthful Living Standards designed to support effective standard-based teaching and learning.
We've added new resources in Parent Guides for both Health and Physical Education, new Cross walks and links to Standards Implementation Office Hours to be held throughout the academic year.

Implementation Office Hours
The 2025-2026 academic year will witness the implementation of the new Healthful Living Standards. As districts engage in the transition, office hours will be available throughout the year to support this process. During these sessions, participants will be given the opportunity to pose questions, explore resources, and learn how other districts are implementing the new Healthful Living Standards.

September 30, 2025 This session will outline six crucial components that can be utilized in daily teaching practices to improve the success of both the instructor and the instruction.

Healthful Living Cross Curricular Instruction
April 7, 2026 In this session, we will investigate the ways in which Healthful Living instruction addresses multiple curriculum areas. These areas may consist of, but are not restricted to, Health, Physical Education, Student Success Standards, Math, and Science.

Health Education Regional Training
safeTALK Suicide Alertness For Everyone, is designed to equip individuals with the skills to recognize when someone might be having thoughts of suicide and connect them with appropriate resources.
HOPE Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences focuses on shifting the conversation from the negative impacts of ACEs to the power of PCEs in building resilience and well-being. This training will provide activities to support participants to recognize and build existing positive practices in their schools.

The North Carolina School Health Training Center (NCSHTC) is committed to strengthening the quality of Health Education within a coordinated school health program to reduce health-risk behaviors in children and adolescents. For over 35 years, the Center has provided professional development throughout the state for teachers, other school personnel and youth-serving agencies to inspire positive change, promote wellness, and reduce health disparities. EVERFI Free Digital Resources to Promote Healthy Habits for Life
EVERFI, a free digital platform for North Carolina educators and students, houses online student lessons (and offline teacher-led lessons) for K-12 teachers to utilize in the classroom. Through standards-aligned, research-based curriculum, students explore relevant topics including:
• Prevention Education around mental health, underage drinking, prescription drugs/fentanyl, and vaping • Nutrition • Bullying Prevention • Character Education • Digital Wellness & Safety • Preparing students with soft skills like effective communication, goal setting, & time management • and more!
EVERFI is aligned to the North Carolina Health Education Standard Course of Study and can be incorporated with lessons and resources teachers are already using.
