Important Course Code Information*
Courses must use State Course Code:
This is a reminder to all PSUs that all courses in Infinite Campus must be linked to a Course Master using an official NC State Course Code.
This applies to all courses, including local electives, advisory periods, remediation, enrichment, and responsive scheduling. Using State Course Codes ensures accurate data reporting, compliance with state accountability standards, and interoperability across systems.
Thank you for your attention to this requirement and for supporting consistent and accurate course data statewide.
|
24-25 Post-EOY Course Name Updates*
NCDPI will push down the Post-EOY State Code Name updates on July 11th or 12th (pending all Phase II PSUs have completed sync to the State Edition).
There is a new 25-26 Master Course List V7 published. Please see tab “Name Changes Post EOY 24-25” for the list of courses with name updates for 25-26.
This update will push down to Course Masters and Course/Sections active in the 25-26 school year. It will update the State Code Name field in both Course Master Information and Course Information. In conjunction, the State Defined fields of Grade Level and Academic Level will also be pushed out for these courses.

Graduation Data Verification Report Information*
Validation Steps:
- Run the Graduation Data Verification report in the 2024-25 context.
- Turn off “Show Active Year Only.”
- Ensure the correct 2024-25 calendars are selected.
Important Deadlines:
- All summer graduates that should be included in the 2024-25 cohort must be entered into the system and validated by August 11th.
- There is no Submit button for this report. Data from Infinite Campus will be extracted after August 11th.
Please remember the following guidelines for coding summer graduates in relation to the GDV for the 2024–25 school year:
- Students who complete graduation before August 7 should have a “Regular” diploma period and an enrollment end date and diploma date of August 6 or earlier in order to report in the 2024-2025 school year cohort.
For detailed instructions on how to complete all required steps for summer graduates, please refer to the following resource: Summer Graduate | NC Department of Public Instruction
|
EDDIE Update*
EDDIE Integration Update:
The EDDIE Integration will be enabled on July 11. Please review your school data in EDDIE and ensure that all information is accurate—especially the Current Grade Levels and Official School Name.
Accurate data in EDDIE is essential to ensure correct information flows into Infinite Campus.
Day Events & Day Setup*
Day Events & Day Setup – Two Important Processes to Complete by July 14
As a reminder, there are two separate processes PSUs must complete to ensure calendars are set up correctly for the new school year and that data syncs properly with ECATS and other systems.
Day Events
PSUs should follow the instructions in the article below to create day events. You may add additional day events as needed; however, any Standard Code used for a day event must be selected from the standard codes listed in the article. Once Day Events are created, make sure that the Day Reset process has been run using the first and last day of school for each non-program calendar. (if this has already been done, it should not be run again), Then add a Day Event to any day that does not have Instruction or Attendance checked.
Day Events
Please complete this setup by Monday, July 14 at 5:00 PM.
Day Setup for Program Calendars
All program calendars under the NCDPI School must have the Day Reset process run using the full calendar date range of 7/1 to 6/30 to ensure proper syncing with ECATS. Day Events do not need to be added for program calendars.
In order for Day Setup to be run for the Program Calendar, a period schedule must exist in Period Setup.
Day Setup for program calendars needs to be completed by Monday, July 14 at 5:00 PM.
Day Setup | Infinite Campus
If you have any questions about either process, please reach out to your assigned SIS PL Consultant.
Thank you for your attention to these important setup steps!
|
Teacher Workday Setup*
Teacher Workdays should remain marked as a School Day; however, Instruction and Attendance should NOT be selected. This setup ensures the day counts as part of the school calendar but is correctly displayed as a non-instructional day when the calendar is printed.
 |
ECATS Beginning-of-Year (BOY) Process*
ECATS has ingested files from both PowerSchool and Infinite Campus to close out the 2024-2025 school year and is preparing for our annual transition to the new school year.
From June 30, 2025, to approximately July 18, 2025, ECATS will be fully functional, but no new data will be added during this period. The Beginning-of-Year (BOY) file ingestion is scheduled to commence on July 18, 2025, and is expected to be completed by end-of-day July 21, 2025. Any adjustments to the ingestion timeline or system accessibility will be communicated.
If you or your Exceptional Children or SIS team missed the June 17 “ECATS Phase II SIS Implementation: Tips and Tricks” office hours, the recording and presentation are available: https://www.dpi.nc.gov/districts-schools/classroom-resources/exceptional-children/every-child-accountability-tracking-system-ecats. Resources and tools detailed in the office hours may be useful for all PSUs, regardless of implementation phase.
Please watch the Exceptional Children Weekly Update and the NCSIS bulletin for additional information or any changes to the above dates.
|
Course Number Requirements by Term Length*
Phase I & II
Please ensure that separate course numbers are assigned for courses offered in different term lengths—such as yearlong, semester, or quarter. This is required to prevent grading issues and to support accurate scheduling and state reporting.
Distinct Course Numbers must be used for each Term Length offered.
- Course Number & Term Type Setup (‘Term Type Override' field)
- Use a separate course number for each term length (YL, Sem, Q)
- use course code characters 8,9,10 to define
- Examples (determine coding and naming conventions locally)
- 51002Z0S, 51002Z0SEM
- 51002Z0Q, 51002Z0QTR
- 51002Z0Y, 51002Z0YL
|
Course & Section Attributes*
Phase I & II
Course and section attributes are currently not showing correctly in Infinite Campus.
Please do not modify these values, as the problem will be fixed programmatically by Infinite Campus.
Expected Fix: Version .2527

REMINDERS:
URGENT: Complete End Enrollments 24-25 School Year
Phase I
In closing out the 2024–25 school year and preparing for 2025–26, all users must immediately complete end-of-year (EOY) processing to ensure accurate student data and avoid disruptions.
DPI has identified that some PSUs have missing or incomplete end date and end status fields in their enrollment records for the 2024–25 school year. NCDPI has provided a Validation Report to assist users on identifying student enrollment records that will need to be updated.
The (NC) EOY Enrollment Verification Report consists of two reports, one that provides students with missing end dates and one that provides students with missing end statuses. A PSU running the validation must be in the 24-25 School Year/Calendar when generating the reports.
Priority 1
Fix End Dates - (NC) Enrollments w/ No End Date - Should be completed by EOD July 11, 2025
Priority 2
Fix End Status - (NC) Enrollments w/ No End Status - Should be completed by EOD July 11, 2025
Additional Information
-
Complete the above Priority 1 and 2 before withdrawing students for the upcoming school year.
-
Before releasing a student to a new PSU or School:
- 24-25 enrollment record must be updated with the proper end date and end status
- 25-26 enrollment record must be updated to a 7/1 entry and end dates with a W1 end status and the No Show checkbox checked
- For cross-enrolled students (X1) students on the validation report, the cross-enrollment record should have an end date of the last day of the course with a W1 end status.
- No Show records with a missing end date and/or end status will be corrected by NCDPI. No Show records do not display in the validations.
- When ending enrollments, be sure to be in the 24-25 School Year/Calendar and to use the appropriate local end status:
- PR – Promoted
- RT – Retained
- Please Do NOT use W1 or W2 as an end status for a student that completed the year. The only exception is the students in the Homeless Program calendar should have an end status of W1.
Thank you for your attention to this important task and for your continued partnership.
If you have questions, please join us during EOY Office Hours. See Eventbrite for links to daily support hours.

Action Required: Add Grad Calc Options & Grading Tasks to New Course Masters
Phase I & II
PSUs will need to add Graduation Calculation Options and Grading Tasks to any newly added Course Masters. Please follow the steps below:
o Search for and select the Course Master
o Add Grading Tasks to the Course Master: Grading and Standards > Course Masters > Grading Tasks
- Be sure to choose the correct Score Group (NC 5 pt Scale for PLTW classes)
o Establish Grade Calc Options for the Course Master: Grading & Standards > Course Masters > Grad Calc options
If the course has already been added to the school and sections have been created:
o Push the Course Master to the Courses: Grading and Standards > Course Masters > Course Master Info > Push to Courses
If the course has not been added to the school:
o Scheduling & Courses > Courses > Add Course
Please ensure these steps are completed to support accurate grading and reporting.

|
Browser Reminder
Phase I & II
Best Practice Reminder – Using Infinite Campus in Your Browser
To ensure optimal system performance and avoid data issues, PSUs should only have one Infinite Campus tab open per browser session.
If you need to work in multiple areas of Infinite Campus at the same time, please use a different browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc.) to open a second session.
Following this best practice helps prevent session conflicts and ensures data saves correctly across tools.
Thank you for your attention to this important reminder!

Events & Actions in Infinite Campus - Statewide Planning & PSU Input Needed
Phase I & II
Events & Actions in Infinite Campus serve as automated prompts to notify staff when key changes occur—such as new student enrollments, schedule changes, or student withdrawals—that require timely attention. These triggers are configured to help improve communication and coordination among staff.
In addition to notifications, Events & Actions can also be used to automate data entry, such as populating specific fields based on a user's response or a change in another field. This functionality supports efficiency, consistency, and accuracy across student records by reducing the need for manual updates and ensuring timely data alignment.
NCDPI is currently developing a guidance document outlining the Events & Actions that have been created—and those that are planned—for statewide implementation. As part of this effort, we are seeking input from PSUs to better understand what additional Events & Actions would be helpful.
Please complete the survey below to share which event types and actions your PSU would find beneficial. Your feedback will help guide future statewide configurations:
Events & Actions Survey
Thank you for your participation and continued partnership!
