ML/Title III Sponsorship Opportunity for the 2025 Conference
Deadline May 15, 2025
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) encourages Public School Units (PSUs) to financially support educators attending this conference as part of their professional development. Registration for the conference is free; however, we recognize that some PSUs may have limited funding available to send participants.
To support ongoing statewide ML/Title III training opportunities in K–12 public education, the ML/Title III team has allocated sponsorship funds for interdisciplinary teams from high-need areas with limited access to teacher training.
New for the 2025 Conference
DPI will sponsor teams of three educators per school, PSU, or region.
These teams should include:
- An ES/ML teacher or coordinator
- A school or district administrator
- An instructional coach, general educator or teacher leader
Recipients are expected to cover all costs and will be reimbursed for:
- Transportation
- Lodging
- Meals
Sponsored educators will be responsible for:
- Up-front payment of all conference-related fees
- Submission of all required reimbursement paperwork
- Completion of a brief presentation or portfolio showcasing the impact of the conference on their classroom, school, or PSU (guidelines will be provided upon acceptance of the sponsorship)
Application deadline: May 15, 2025. Questions? Contact ESLTitleIII@dpi.nc.gov.

Applications Available for the K-12 Math Standard Course of Study Standards Writing Team
The NC Department of Public Instruction K-12 Math Team is excited to announce the NC State Board of Education has approved to transition from the review phase of the N.C. K-12 Math Standard Course of Study to the revision phase. The process is guided by the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS) Procedures Manual, adopted by the Board of Education in February 2022.
The first step is establishing the Standards Writing Team (SWT). Working in grade-level/content area groups, the SWT considers possible revisions to K-12 Math when and where applicable. This may involve slight modifications, major modifications, deletions, additions, or no changes to current standards. The SWT Scope of Work provides a full explanation of the requirements for the SWT.
All SWT members will be asked to participate in an in-person kick-off event July 29th - 31st in Asheboro, NC. NCDPI will reimburse for any travel costs associated with the training.
