Gov. Josh Stein signed a proclamation on Friday deeming March as Arts in Our Schools Month.
“Arts Education leads to heightened skills in listening, understanding human experiences, creative problem solving, adapting to and respecting others’ ways of thinking, communicating effectively, analyzing nonverbal communication, reading, self-expression, imagination, and creativity.”
Proclamation for Arts in Our Schools Month
ARTS North Carolina, a statewide arts advocacy group, is asking the public to encourage their legislatures to support and join the Joint Caucus on Arts and Arts Education.
During March, there will be performances weekly at the education building in Raleigh from North Carolina public school choirs, bands, and dance classes. Performances will be live-streamed at 11:30 a.m., and you can see schedule below. Read the entire article here.
