Student Perspective - Ian House, North Carolina State Board of Education Student Advisor
"North Carolina Public Schools are unlike any place. It is in them that students receive the love and nurture from countless educators in their pursuit of life. There is nowhere better where individuals can learn the crucial skills of adaptability, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, empathy, a learner's mindset, and personal responsibility than North Carolina Public Schools. Most importantly, public schools are at the heart of communities throughout North Carolina, making them the center of over 1.5 million students' lives. It is thanks to the public schools that students are able to develop the capacity to become productive members of society and lifelong learners, contributing to our state's economy and well-being. It is an honor to be among the 1.5 million students attending the amazing institution of North Carolina Public Schools."
