Superintendent Green is building a strategic plan for North Carolina schools, and your input matters! As part of his “Mo Wants to Know” initiative, he’s meeting with and listening to students, parents, educators, community members, faith leaders, business leaders and anyone passionate about public education.
Drawing on the insight he gathers, Green will lead NCDPI in drafting a comprehensive plan that includes goals, initiatives and accountability measures to achieve excellence in North Carolina schools.
The Superintendent's Student Advisory Council is a diverse group of High School juniors and seniors from across all 8 of NC's State Board Regions. Each member serves a two-year term and meets biweekly to discuss education issues that leaders across North Carolina could solve and advocate for.
During each of their terms, advisors also will develop two proposals for the State Superintendent's office, or General Assembly members through a comprehensive presentation that outlines ways to create change through policy or legislation.
“Principals are critical in building a culture of learning and growth for their students and staff,” State Superintendent Maurice “Mo” Green said. “Each of these finalists has demonstrated their ability to uplift the students, teachers and community around them, and challenge them to reach their full potential. This is an outstanding group of regional finalists who elevate the education profession through their example and leadership in their schools daily.”
