Exciting Changes Ahead: New Administration and Organizational Structure
Greetings All,
As we approach the start of 2025, we are excited to share some important updates with you regarding our leadership and organizational structure. With the arrival of the new administration in January, we will be implementing several key changes designed to drive growth, efficiency, and collaboration across the organization.
New Administration and Leadership
Maurice “Mo” Green, the North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction-elect, has given much thought to the organization and staffing necessary to ensure the best possible level of service for public school units, students and their families in North Carolina.
New Organizational Structure
In line with the evolving strategy, there will be a new organizational structure implemented. This structure is designed to streamline our operations and ensure the alignment of long-term goals. Here is the new organizational structure that will be effective on January 1, 2025. There may be additional changes to the organizational structure thereafter. You will receive information about these changes, including how they may affect your teams and departments.
Opportunities for Growth
As part of this transition and new organizational structure, several new leadership positions will be posted. These roles are integral to the vision and goals of Mo and the State Board of Education for the future, and we encourage all employees to stay engaged and consider new opportunities to grow within the Department of Public Instruction.
Here are job postings for new leadership positions that you and others external to DPI may consider starting December 12, 2024. While these positions are policymaking or managerial exempt positions that do not require posting, Mo has decided to post these positions so that more individuals have an opportunity to be considered. While each posting will remain open until the position is filled, initial interviews will be starting as early as next week. So, I encourage you to submit your application(s) promptly.
We believe that these changes will open exciting new opportunities for personal and professional development across all levels of the organization. We encourage you to actively explore new roles that align with your skills, interests, and career aspirations.
We understand that change can be challenging, but we are confident that these adjustments will help us continue to build a stronger, more innovative, and agile organization. We are committed to supporting you through this transition and ensuring that every team member is empowered to succeed in their new roles.
Additionally, we are committed to maintaining a transparent line of communication. As other positions are announced, we will provide resources to help you understand the application process, including guidance on how to apply, key deadlines, and what to expect during the selection process. We want to make sure all employees have the opportunity to thrive and grow within DPI.
Should you have any immediate questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to HR or your leadership team. We are here to help and support you every step of the way.
Warm regards,
Janet Blount, HR Director
