CSRB considered 4 charter application amendments. They are as follows:
Nalanda requested a relocation over 5-miles which was approved.
Crossnore requested an amendment to the curriculum, enrollment, calendar, and school day which was approved.
Thomas Academy requested an Average Daily Membership Allowance of under 80 students due to the unique population they serve which was approved.
KIPP requested to allow KIPP Gaston to incorporate KIPP Halifax into their charter thereby combining both schools to better serve their community which was approved.
CSRB considered 3 charter school applications. They are as follows:
Granite Charter Academy's application was approved.
Bright Scholars' application was denied.
Legacy Traditional Schools was invited back for a second interview.
2025 renewal charter schools:
The 2025 renewal cohort began their presentations in preparation for a new charter agreement. The CSRB will begin voting on renewal terms in January and/or February 2025. The charter schools who presented this month are:
