CSRB Basics
- CSRB meetings are streamed live every month on the DPI Youtube page.
- Meeting agendas are posted to Eboard approximately a week prior to each meeting.
- The next regularly scheduled CSRB meeting is November 12 and 13.
- CSRB member lists, previous minutes, and other information is housed on the OCS web page.

October 2024 Amendment Requests:
Mrs. Julie Whetzel, OCS Consultant, presented several amendment requests to the CSRB.
Southern Wake Academy - Mission Statement
Durham Charter School - Mission Statement
All were approved unanimously
October 2024 Charter School Applicants:
Ms. Melanie Rackley, OCS Consultant, reviewed the charter school application process, relevant legislation and policies, and the CSRB responsibilities. The following charter school applications were presented to CSRB for a vote to approve, not approve, or schedule a second interview:
Standard Applicants:
Focus Charter Academy - Application not approved. Vote was unanimous.
Bettis Academy - Applicant asked to return for a second interview. Vote was unanimous.
Other Business:
- Ms. Ashley Baquero, OCS Director, presented the 2023-2024 Charter Schools Academic Data.
- Ms. Ashley Baquero, OCS Director, presented updates related to the Office of Charter Schools. This report included information regarding support provided to charter schools impacted by Hurricane Helene.
