Standards Writing Team (SWT) to Complete Draft 1
The English Language Arts Standards Writing Team (SWT) convened on July 15-16, 2024 to begin revision of the current ELA NCSCOS. Four grade-band teams (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) reviewed the Data Review Committee (DRC) recommendations as well as research and other state standards to guide the revision of the current standards.
The SWT's work continued beyond these dates via virtual meetings and aims to release Draft 1 to the field for comment mid-to-late August.
Please read the English Language Arts SWT Scope of Work for additional details, which includes a tentative timeline for the 2024-2025 school year.
