OELA has begun hosting a series of dual language webinars: "The 3 W's of Dual Language Education for State, Local, and Site Leaders: What, Why, and How". The webinars offer invaluable insights for superintendents, administrators at every level, featuring expert guidance and resources.
Dual language education is a powerful tool for fostering multilingualism and providing equitable access to high quality instruction for English and multilingual learners.
The webinars will be highlighting Dual language immersion programs from Delaware, California, Utah, Arizona, Virginia, Texas, Colorado and Washington, D.C.

Recognize
an
ESL Teacher!
The ELD Recognition Award (ERA) process is now is the 2nd phase of the timeline: all local nominees should be provided with the Portfolio Packet (contents are up to each PSU).
The next deadline is April 26th when the nominees need to have their Portfolio Packets submitted for the PSU review process.

The NCDPI ML/Title III Team will convene a committee to review PSU nominees. The top three nominees will be notified by May 31, 2024. The ERA recipient will receive the award during the ML/Title III Conference closest to their PSU.

Instructional Material Evaluators Needed
We hope this email finds you well. The North Carolina Textbook Commission is excited to extend an invitation to expert teachers across the state who are passionate about K-12 Science education. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to assist in the evaluation of Instructional Materials/Textbooks for K-12 Science.
This opportunity is open to current, certified K-12 Science, Exceptional Children (EC), and English Language Learner (ELL) teachers with a minimum of three years of teaching experience. As a participant, they will be provided with comprehensive orientation and training sessions. These sessions are designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively review and evaluate the latest textbooks and instructional materials in K-12 Science.
