FY24 Form 479
The E-Rate Team has implemented DocuSign to collect the FY24 Form 479. This change aims to streamline our procedures and improve E-Rate documentation efficiency. We have prepared a comprehensive guide to help you complete the online 479. You can access the guide at: https://go.ncdpi.gov/F479Guide.
The DocuSign Form 479s were sent to our E-Rate point of contact on Monday, April 15, 2024. The notification came as a DocuSign email from Corey McNeill. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at erate@dpi.nc.gov.
2024 Funds for Learning Survey
The 2024 survey is now open for applicants to submit confidential responses about critical areas of the federal E-Rate funding program. The E-Rate program has seen a significant overhaul in regulatory and procedural shifts throughout the 14-year history of the survey. PSU E-Rate leaders are encouraged to participate in the 2024 survey to influence the program's direction and advocate for their needs.
ACP Phase-Out Continues
With no affirmative relief from Congress to provide extended funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (“ACP”), the FCC reluctantly continues its plan to shut down the discounted internet program for low-income households. Last week, the FCC issued a Public Notice (DA 24‑342) reiterating that this April will be the last month of full reimbursements and formally setting the maximum reimbursement amounts for the month of May.
The FCC is encouraging service providers to take efforts to keep as many ACP households as possible connected to broadband service after the end of the program by offering to move them to low-cost internet service plans that the providers already offer or that they newly adopt as an offering to low-income consumers.
