AI Resource Available
NCDPI recently released an AI Guidebook: North Carolina Generative AI Implementation Recommendations and Considerations for PK-13 Public Schools
Because AI is an emerging technology and is changing rapidly, as are laws and rules governing its use, this is a living document, and it will be updated as needed to reflect changes that take place in this very fluid environment. There are many exciting use cases on the horizon, and as new use cases are evaluated and found safe and effective for use in education, we will add them to this document. The ‘Version History’ table will include details of all updates and changes so that users can see at a glance what updates have been made. Note that the last update will appear at the bottom of each page for your reference.
These generative AI implementation recommendations and considerations have been created to share information and resources to help direct responsible implementation of generative AI tools and guide AI Literacy in North Carolina Public Schools. These guidelines have been organized around the five focus areas of the North Carolina Digital Learning Plan, which guides digital teaching and learning for North Carolina public schools. The Digital Learning Plan encourages the safe use of innovative technology to prepare students for future school and work to improve student outcomes and support the appropriate use of technology to advance learning.
