ML/Title III Growing Success for MLs Summer Conference

Make your plans now! Join experts from across the state and the Department of Public Instruction for the ML/Title III Growing Success for Multilingual Learners Summer Conference. This year's conference, themed "Unlocking the Power of Multilingual Learners for Academic Success," promises to be an inspiring and transformative experience.

 

Multiple Formats: We are offering two face-to-face locations and a virtual option. Whether you prefer the collaborative energy of in-person events or the flexibility of virtual participation, we've got you covered!

 

Dynamic Sessions: Engage in thought-provoking discussions led by experts in the field and DPI. Our carefully curated sessions cover a range of topics, from best practices and collaboration techniques to effective engagement with schools, families, and communities.

 

Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow educators, exchange ideas, and build a supportive professional network!

ESL Teacher! 

 

The ELD Recognition Award (ERA) process is now is the 2nd phase of the timeline: all local nominees should be provided with the Portfolio Packet (contents are up to each PSU).

 

The next deadline is April 26th when the nominees need to have their Portfolio Packets submitted for the PSU review process.

 

 

 

Timeline - Suggested

  • March 18 - April 10, 2024 Nominees notified and sent Portfolio Packet
  • April 26, 2024 Nominee submission deadline for Portfolio Packet
  • April 29 - May 17, 2024 Nominees vetted by the PSU

DPI Deadline

  • May 17, 2024 Deadline to submit Nominee to NCDPI ML/Title III Team via nomination form

The NCDPI ML/Title III Team will convene a committee to review PSU nominees. The top three nominees will be notified by May 31, 2024. The ERA recipient will receive the award during the ML/Title III Conference closest to their PSU.

Instructional Material Evaluators Needed

Greetings,

 

We hope this email finds you well. The North Carolina Textbook Commission is excited to extend an invitation to expert teachers across the state who are passionate about K-12 Science education. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to assist in the evaluation of Instructional Materials/Textbooks for K-12 Science.

 

This opportunity is open to current, certified K-12 Science, Exceptional Children (EC), and English Language Learner (ELL) teachers with a minimum of three years of teaching experience. As a participant, they will be provided with comprehensive orientation and training sessions. These sessions are designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively review and evaluate the latest textbooks and instructional materials in K-12 Science. We encourage you to share this opportunity with expert K-12 science educators who might be interested in contributing to this endeavor. The application deadline is May 20, 2024.
