NCDPI
NCDPI Mathematics team continues to provide sessions for the Mathematics Content Series in the 2024 Spring semester. Teachers, teacher leaders, coaches, district staff, and administrators have responded with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Sessions are focused on elementary, middle, and high school mathematics content and pedagogy while highlighting practitioners in the field. Participants earn 2 contact hours per session. Each session meets virtually for 90 minutes with a 30-minute asynchronous reflection time. The information and resources shared are both beneficial and useful.

The North Carolina Collaborative for Mathematics Learning (NC2ML) is a community of educators and leaders aiming for high quality and equitable math instruction for each and every student in North Carolina. During the 2023-2024 academic year NC2ML is holding special events and sharing resources co-designed by NC educators for NC educators, leaders, and families.
- Join the high school students, teachers, leaders, and administrators across North Carolina who are working on making math classrooms more engaging and equitable spaces by focusing on a discourse move each month. In April, we are highlighting “Advancing Student Thinking”. Join us for the NCDPI High School Content and Pedagogy Series on April 9th at 3:30 PM to learn more.

2023-2024 North Carolina e-Learning WIDA Workshops
The NCDPI ML/Title III Team is pleased to share the 2023-24 professional development opportunities developed by WIDA for NC multilingual learner stakeholders. These WIDA workshops cover a range of topics and we invite all audiences - from K-12 content and ML teachers to district and school specialists and administrators - to join one or all of these free and informative sessions!
Join a free face-to-face offering and take the opportunity to interact with a WIDA Specialist and colleagues from other PSUs across the state.
Online workshops are available throughout the year and are presented through the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). These free sessions range in topic and length, and are available through August 31st, 2024. Engage with these PDs at a time and place that is convenient for you!

Teaching Positions open for the 2024 session of NC Governor’s School!
Come and work with talented and intellectually engaged high school students in a thriving learning community this summer – without grades!
NCDPI is specifically seeking creative, engaging science and math teachers. This is an opportunity to play a role in shaping a life-changing summer for these amazing students. Teachers are needed for both Governor’s School campuses, hosted by Greensboro College and Meredith College. GS is also currently seeking instructors for English, Spanish, Area II/Philosophy, and Instrumental Music classes.
Governor’s School will take place June 23-July 20, with faculty arriving on June 17 to begin orientation. We will be reviewing applications and conducting interviews in the coming weeks.

Student Scholarship Opportunity
Math educators and leaders, do you know a * local high school student with an keen interest in technology?
As a leader in advanced technologies, Wake Electric established the Webb Technology Contest to provide an opportunity for local high school students to discover and explore technologies that are transforming our world while applying for an opportunity to receive a $1,500 scholarship.
This year's Essay will delve into the technologies of NASA's upcoming VIPER Moon Rover, slated for launch in late 2024.
To apply, students must fill out an application and write an essay based on the prompt included on the application.

NCDPI K-12 Mathematics Virtual Office Hours
On March 19, 2024, the NCDPI K-12 Mathematics team, with special guests, NCDPI Testing and Accountability specialists, NC2ML representatives, and Advanced Learning and Gifted consultants, held an office hour for NC math school and district leaders. This office hour featured information, opportunities, and resources from all groups as well as updates from NCDPI Mathematics team.
