For additional information, please see the updated Reading Retained Reporting Guidance for the 2023-2024 school year.

Phonemic Awareness
Did you know?
Developing fluent readers is a complex process, and their success is premised upon having received intentional, explicit, and systematic reading instruction aligned to the science of reading. Fluent readers have been taught to attend to, discriminate, remember, and manipulate sounds at the sentence, word, syllable, and phoneme (sound) level. The development of those foundational skills is necessary to being able to accurately and automatically manipulate phonemes and read words.
Please join us for our next Literacy for Educators Meeting session that will focus on Phonemic Awareness. on November 28th, from 3:00-4:00 pm.
