NCDPI
NCDPI Mathematics team continues to provide sessions for the Mathematics Content Series. Teachers, teacher leaders, coaches, district staff, and administrators have responded with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Sessions are focused on elementary, middle and high school mathematics content and pedagogy while highlighting practitioners in the field. Participants earn 2 contact hours per session. Each session meets virtually for 90 minutes with a 30-minute asynchronous reflection time. The information and resources shared are both beneficial and useful. Don't miss this opportunity and please share with teachers and leaders in your area!

NC2ML
The North Carolina Collaborative for Mathematics Learning (NC2ML) is a community of educators and leaders aiming for high quality and equitable math instruction for each and every student in North Carolina. During the 2023-2024 academic year NC2ML is holding special events and sharing resources co-designed by NC educators for NC educators, leaders, and families.
- Join us for the NCDPI Elementary Math Content Series on November 16 at 4 p.m. to engage in conversation about Shifting our Focus to Foster Mathematical Flourishing. We also invite NC districts to send teams to a leadership retreat at NCCAT on March 4-7, 2024, where teams will work collaboratively to learn more about high-quality equitable mathematics instruction, to develop and align a district-wide vision of mathematics instruction, and to plan for implementation. Reserve your spot now!
- The 6-8 team is finalizing resources to enable NC instructional leaders to support their teachers to enact high quality and equitable mathematics instruction for each and every student. Watch for resources to be released during the 2023-24 academic year. around three areas: Helping teachers learn how to have empathic interactions with all students, develop a positive math mindset in themselves and teachers, and identify characteristics of high quality and equitable math practices. We have launched a Statewide Empathy Book Club where we will read and discuss how to develop empathy for all students in our mathematics classrooms so that each and every student is supported to flourish mathematically! Register here. For more information, visit NC2ML.org or contact Michelle Stephans @ michelle.stephan@charlotte.edu
- Join the high school students, teachers, leaders, and administrators across North Carolina who are working on making math classrooms more engaging and equitable spaces by focusing on a discourse move each month. In November, we are highlighting “assessing student thinking” with the release of Toolkits for Teaching and Learning, Professional Learning, and Administrative Leadership (you can download them here). Join us for the NCDPI High School Content and Pedagogy Series on November 14th at 3:30 PM to learn more.
