The Office of Learning Recovery and Acceleration Team wants to help you create impactful summer programs that boost student learning through rigorous, yet engaging programming. Throughout the fall, we will be sharing highlights, news stories, and promising practice write-ups from 2022 and 2023 summer programs as well as evidence- based resources. You can use these to support planning for upcoming summer 2024 programming. If you have questions about anything shared in this section, please reach out to our ARP Program Administrator, Dr. Richard Lewis, at richard.lewis@dpi.nc.gov.
This week we are pleased to share the Summer Learning Design Principles Infographic. These design principles are based on the EdResearch for Action Design Principles Series and were reviewed and summarized by OLR’s Qualitative Analyst, Dr. Erin Manuel. We encourage PSUs to examine how well their summer programs align to these design principles and how they can be incorporated in their evidence-based programmatic planning for the upcoming summer. Evidence shows that engaging summer programs are made in the Fall!
This infographic will be included in a NC Summer Guidance Document that will be released sometime this winter!
