Digital Teaching and Learning

NC DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION

NCBOLD is just around the corner.  NCBOLD, Beacons of Leadership Development, is an all day in-person conference for public school educators in North Carolina.

Current public school educators have created and will deliver high quality professional learning related to digital teaching and learning.  Attendees can earn up to 0.6 CEUs of renewal credit each day to present to their PSU for renewal credit.  Registration will open  at the beginning of May.  In addition to incredible learning, attendees will be provided lunch each day.  There is no cost to attend and attendees may attend any host site that they prefer.

July 25 - Watauga High School (Watauga County Schools | Northwest Region)

July 26 - Kannapolis Middle School (Kannapolis City Schools | Southwest)

July 27 - Oak Grove High School (Davidson County Schools | Piedmont Triad)

July 31 - Croatan High School (Carteret County Schools | Southeast)

August 1 - Washington High School (Beaufort County Schools | Northeast High School)

August 2 - Rocky Mount High School (Nash County Public Schools | North Central)

August 3 - Gray’s Creek High School (Cumberland County Schools | Sandhills

 

Join one of our mini-conferences for fresh ideas to immediately incorporate into your classroom practices!

All sessions will be created and delivered by educators from across North Carolina. Concurrent sessions will support classroom teachers, support personnel, and school-level administrators in developing the capacity to improve instruction and provide digital leadership in classrooms and schools.

ISTE Membership Updates

 

Emails have been going out for anyone in your PSU who is new or have not yet activated their ISTE Membership. Please:

  • Put no-reply@iste.org on your allow list so emails can get through. 
  • Send an email to ashley.mcbride@dpi.nc.gov if you need any support or have trouble logging into your account.
  • Reach out to your Regional Consultant for a list of individuals in your PSU who have activated their membership.
  • Check out these NC Resources for rolling ISTE Membership out to your staff.

Boot Camp is back.

 

You have two choices this fall.  The first one is in the west at Lake Junaluska and the second is central in Raleigh at MCNC.

 

We do have a set of rooms “blocked” in Lake Junaluska and will have the code for you shortly.  If you know of someone who would like to attend that is not on this list, please forward this email to them and have them contact Sue Boros to add them to my email list. Registration, however, is limited to two seats per school/district.
