Roy Cooper has vetoed House Bill 618, a proposal that would strip the State Board of Education (SBE) of most charter school oversight responsibility. The governor called the bill a “power grab” by the Republican-controlled General Assembly.

Purpose and Objectives

PURPOSE
|
Examine how PSUs can effectively leverage their remaining ESSER funds using new and relevant data and evidence-based interventions to begin moving from post-pandemic triage to transformation of teaching and learning so that all students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and successfully transition to the post-secondary plans of their choice.

LEARNING GOALS
|
- Each PSU will leave with at least one concrete, evidence-based idea or resource for how they plan to strategically leverage remaining ESSER funds to move their school or districts into the transformation phase during the 2023-24 school year.
- Each PSU will identify at least one shift in funding that will assist them in transforming teaching and learning based on their PSU needs supported by OLR Research and Evaluation Recovery Data.
- PSUs will collaborate with other PSU leaders to network and learn from one another.
