Data Review Committee (DRC) Recommendations for the Standards
In August 2022, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Office of Academic Standards’ team kicked off the review phase for K-12 Guidance Essential Standards. Our standards will follow the NC Standard Course of Study Manual in terms of process and timeline.
The Data Review Committee (DRC) met at the end of April and analyzed all the data collected. From the two day meeting the DRC team made recommendations for the standards that were submitted to the State Board of Education on May 31st and June 1st. The recommendation from the DRC team based on the data collection statewide is to adopt the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) Student Standards: Mindsets and Behaviors for Student Success.
