Progress for World Languages in the Review Phase
The World Languages Data Review Committee (DRC) met in late March to analyze the data collected and compiled from Standard-by-Standard surveys, regional focus groups, and individual interviews about the current Standard Course of Study, the North Carolina World Language Essential Standards. They also reviewed the research, policies, and legislation that pertain to World Language education. |
The DRC is completing a report that organizes the data points and outlines the trends and themes emerging from their analysis, as well as makes recommendations for revision. The NCDPI World Languages team will bring this report forward to the State Board of Education (SBE) likely in late spring or early summer.
Please see pages 15 - 17 of the North Carolina SCOS Internal Procedures Manual for additional information about the DRC work during the review phase.
