Girl Up | 2023 USA Leadership Summit

June 27-28 in Washington DC

This event will bring together more than 150 youth changemakers from around the U.S. The USA Leadership Summit is open to U.S. students ages 13-24, and requires an application to attend. Space is limited, so be sure to apply by April 19.

Learning for Justice Educator Fund - Deadline: April 14

The LFJ Educator Fund funds classroom level ($500 - $2,500 grants) and school & district level ($2,500 - $25,000 grants) projects focused on restorative discipline or youth civic engagement.

Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes - Deadline: 4/15

The Barron Prize annually honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive difference to people and the environment. Fifteen top winners each receive $10,000 to support their service work or higher education.

Little Free Library Community Partner Application

Over the next three years, the Little Free Library organization will place and sustain 2,500 Little Free Library book-sharing boxes in every book desert in the United States. Select applicants will receive Little Free Libraries and books at no cost.

The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Each local chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants of $1,000, no strings attached, to projects and their creators, usually given out monthly.

The NC Department of Public Instruction and the NC Council on the Holocaust are excited to share important updates on work being done in alignment with the Gizella Abramson Holocaust Education Act § 115C-81.57, which was passed into law in November 2021.

 

This mandates Holocaust education in middle and high school in public education in North Carolina beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. Explore the NC Council on the Holocaust Site to find out how the Act will be implemented.
