K-12 Science Standards Revision Updates
The 2nd Draft of the proposed 2023 K-12 Science Survey has been released.
The survey will be open until Sunday March 26th at 11:59pm.

Completed Actions:
✓ Data Review Committee (DRC) completed review and analysis of feedback from Draft 1
✓ DRC report provided to the Standards Writing Team (SWT)
✓ SWT met in-person on February 6th to review the DRC recommendations and began editing/revising Draft 1 of the proposed standards
✓ Draft 2 of the proposed 2023 K-12 Science Standards was released for review by all stakeholders on Thursday, February 23
Next Steps:
● Per the Procedures Manual, the survey will remain open for 30 days (closing March 26)
● DRC will review data from survey and create report
● SWT will receive DRC report and edit/revise Draft 2 of the proposed standards

NCDPI Math Content Series
NCDPI Mathematics team is on its third round in the Mathematics Content Series. Teachers, teacher leaders, coaches, district staff, and administrators have responded with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Sessions are focusing on elementary and middle school mathematics content while highlighting practitioners in the field. Participants earn 2 contact hours per session. Each session meets virtually for 90 minutes with a 30-minute asynchronous reflection time. The information and resources shared are both beneficial and useful. Don't miss this opportunity!

LIS Learning Series Recordings & Registration
Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, there will be a series of professional learning involving multiple content areas. The LIS are to be used by all teachers in every content area for core instruction. This series will focus on integrating the Literacy Instruction Standards (LIS) into standards-aligned content area instruction. These sessions are open to K-12 educators.

NCDPI K-12 Mathematics Virtual Office Hours
On February 21, 2023, the NCDPI K-12 Mathematics team, with special guests, NCDPI Test Measurement Specialists, Beth Nash and Michael Mahoney, the College Board- NC AP Partnership Associate Director,
Ryan Byrd, and NCDPI Advanced Learning and Gifted Education consultants, Stephanie Cyrus and Beth Cross, held an office hour for NC math school and district leaders. This office hour featured Testing and Accountability and The College Board - NC AP information and shared resources. Additionally, the Office of Advanced Learning Education and K-12 Math team shared recent updates for the field.
