Updated CAST for World Languages Canvas Course

CAST for World Languages

The Counselor Advising and Scheduling Tips (CAST) for World Languages mini-course has been updated recently. Module 8 - Graduating Career and College Ready has a series of scheduling best practices to guide school counselors and others who advise students on their K-12 language learning path. These practices include:

  • Planning for how students build proficiency to reach higher levels;
  • Implementing course credit and placement options in an articulated sequence (such as using the Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) process for students who have a heritage language background, participated in a K-8 language program, lived or studied abroad); and
  • Aligning students’ schedules with their future aspirations to earn the GLE and go on to use language in their post-secondary plans.

Access the CAST for World Languages course in the Professional Learning - Canvas Courses area in the Professional Learning section of the World Languages Resources Hub.
