September Applicant Interviews

Accelerated Applicants

The Charter Schools Advisory Board recommended three accelerated applicants to the State Board of Education for Ready To Open approval: American Leadership Monroe (Charter One), Legacy Classical Academy (American Traditional Academies) and Two Rivers Public Montessori. If approved by SBE, these three schools will open in Fall 2023 under the accelerated timeline. The CSAB unanimously voted to recommend SBE denial for Unity Global Academy. Approved accelerated applicants will go forward to the State Board of Education in November.

Standard Applicants

The Charter Schools Advisory Board heard from three standard timeline applicants in September. These applicants were seeking approval to open in Fall 2024. The CSAB narrowly recommended American Leadership Academy Garner to the State Board of Education for Ready to Open approval. Centerpoint Classical Academy (American Traditional Academies) was invited back for a Round Two interview to be held this December. The CSAB voted to recommend SBE denial for Liberty Charter Academy (American Traditional Academies). Approved standard applicants will go forward the State Board of Education in January.
