Becoming a Network Leader for this team provides you with the opportunity to share your expertise and collaborate with other educators across the state. The NC ML Teacher Network Leadership Team is a group of in-service teachers working together to plan opportunities for ALL teachers who work with multilingual learners to explore resources and interact with colleagues to discuss and reflect on EL education using a collaborative structure for professional growth.

- The application window closes on September 16, 2022.
- Selected applicants will be notified via email on September 23, 2022.
- New Network Leaders are required to attend a Meet & Greet session on September 29, 2022, at 6 pm.
As part of the application, candidates submit a visual representation of why they are interested in joining this leadership team (Any visual format, e.g. one-minute video, sketchnote, presentation slide, etc. Be creative!).
Sponsorships
Multilingual Learner/Title III Sponsorships - Group 1 Fall 2022
*Application window: Monday, August 29 - September 16, 2022*
We are excited to announce that the Multilingual Learner/Title III Sponsorships application window opens on Monday, August 29, and closes on September 16, for sponsored activities being offered this fall. Explore the document 22-23 ML/Title III Sponsorships Group 1 - Fall 2022 Events to learn about the set of professional learning opportunities.
This sponsorship covers all expenses including registration, travel (mileage or airfare), ground transportation, lodging, meals, and classroom coverage (if applicable), per State guidelines.
Selected educators will be notified via email on September 23, 2022. Educators who receive confirmation of the sponsorship are required to attend one Q&A session before registering for the sponsored activity and submit a task upon participation in the event.

Considerations When Educating Multilingual Learners With Identified Learning Disabilities | 5 self-paced modules + 1 online meeting or additional module
Audience: This virtual workshop is designed for classroom teachers who are ready to try out new ideas in their classrooms and share what they learned with a group of online colleagues.
Description: The purpose of this workshop is to create an online Professional Learning Community that supports participants’ collaboration and fosters ownership of their learning. Over the course of 15 weeks, participants engage in 6 modules that each consist of 3 sections: Explore, Make it Work, and Share. They select ideas to try out in their classrooms and share their experiences with colleagues in online discussion boards and one online meeting.

Secondary Grades and Writing with Multilingual Learners | 2 Days

Audience: This workshop is designed for secondary grade educators - Social Studies, Science, ELA, English language development specialists, and instructional coaches.
Description: Secondary educators will join this two-day workshop to focus on writing instruction that supports the use of the Teaching & Learning Cycle as a way to empower multilingual writers, not only to produce successful academic writing, but more importantly, to communicate effectively for a variety of purposes and audiences.
Notes:
- This workshop is centered around secondary social studies, but has provided connections to secondary ELA and Science.
- This workshop is not focusing on teaching SIFEs/SLIFEs basic foundational literacy skills.
- If you have attended the elementary grades version of this workshop, you will find the concepts of this workshop to be identical, but we have provided a secondary context and secondary writing samples.

Highlighted self-paced workshop: Developing Language for Learning in Mathematics
This self-paced workshop illustrates the benefits of designing mathematics instruction to provide multilingual students opportunities to use language to express their ideas and co-construct ideas with others. For K–12 math and ESL teachers. Time to complete: 4 hours
