In an effort to keep stakeholders informed, the NCDPI ELA Team provides monthly updates that contain the latest announcements and current news regarding the Literacy Instruction Standards. These updates are sent every first Friday of the month.
For information regarding the LIS, in addition to these First Friday Updates, please visit the Literacy Instruction Website and view the timeline that details the progress of the LIS implementation.
New Literacy Repository
You asked, we answered! The NCDPI Office of Academic Standards and Office of Early Learning has created a repository that houses literacy resources from both offices to support stakeholders in implementation of SB387 and beyond. All the resources you need in one place! The range of resources offers users an opportunity to determine their own specific needs and find materials that suit them.
This Canvas repository can be accessed with or without a Canvas account. Browse through resources to help you learn, plan, instruct, review, and inform yourself or others. Check back periodically as each office adds more resources throughout the 22-23 SY!
*Note: This Canvas LMS hub is a free online resource for educators in NC public schools. The information shared is subject to change based on NC SBE policy and NCDPI leadership guidelines.
