Cooper Stresses Workforce Preparation, Diverse Educators in National Group Address
"North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said colleges and K-12 schools are critical to ensuring the state can fill the ranks of its many new and incoming employers. He also stressed the need to make sure students are supported on their way to being workforce-ready.
When Cooper speaks with chief executive officers of companies about their top three issues, they list, 'workforce, workforce, workforce,' he said. 'So education is going to be key for success in business.' Businesses should be classroom regulars and involved early, Cooper said."
Superintendent Truitt and NCDPI dubbed 2022 as the "Year of the Workforce" because we know how important it is to educate students on life beyond the classroom, and are happy to hear Governor Cooper echo these sentiments!
