In This Edition:
The Arts Education team at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has compiled what they believe is the most pertinent professional development from their catalog for new Arts Educators in North Carolina. Though organized sequentially, District Arts Education Leaders may recommend a specific sequence more tailored to the needs of their PSU if necessary.
Educators are able to complete the professional development offered here asynchronously for a total of 1.5 CEUs (Note: The Course Coding Webinars are not available for NCDPI Credit. PSUs may opt to offer local credit for these sessions) The categories of these sessions include:
- NCDPI

Digital Teaching and Learning Conference
The division of Digital Teaching and Learning (DTL) is excited to announce its new iteration of NCBOLD for this summer. Previously NCBOLD had been a virtual professional learning opportunity for public school educators throughout North Carolina.
Realizing the importance of high quality, face to face professional learning, DTL will offer an all day digital teaching and learning conference in each of the educational regions throughout our state. NCBOLD has recruited current, practicing educators with a proven track record of delivering high quality and innovative professional learning tied to the Digital Learning Competencies for both educators and administrators and the Digital Learning Standards for students. These NCBOLD ambassadors will create and execute innovative sessions that will allow practicing educators to effectively integrate digital teaching and learning in their classrooms. For the summer of 2022, NCBOLD will be hosted at the following locations.

North Carolina's Vision for Comprehensive Arts Education
In today's globally competitive world, innovative thinking and creativity are essential for all school children. High quality, standards-based instruction in the arts develops these skills and effectively engages, retains, and prepares future-ready students for graduation and success in an entrepreneurial economy. Dance, music, theatre arts, and visual arts, taught by licensed arts educators and integrated throughout the curriculum, are critical to North Carolina's 21st century education.
