Digital Teaching and Learning Grants Win Approval

"Digital teaching and learning in North Carolina is getting a boost from $1.15 million in grants to 13 school districts and charter schools during the 2022-23 school year to fund innovative improvement initiatives.

The State Board of Education [last week] approved the 13 proposals through the sixth round of competitive grants under the state’s Digital Learning Initiative. The state-funded grants support the development and dissemination of local innovative digital learning models. The goal of the grant program is to have effective digital learning practices spread across all North Carolina K-12 public schools."

NCDPI ESL Summer 2022 Conference Program

The NCDPI ESL/Title III Team invites ALL educators of Multilingual Learners (MLs) to participate in the Growing Success for MLs Summer Conference. During this summer’s conference, educators will have an opportunity to think deeply about the 2020 NC ELD Standard Course of Study (SCOS); to reimagine instruction through new ELD resources; and to exchange SCOS implementation ideas that center the needs and achievement of MLs.

PBS Impact Early Childhood Education Summit

This month, PBS will host their first Impact Summit—a free professional development conference for early childhood educators in North Carolina. Discover new strategies for helping our youngest learners (birth to grade 3) grow strong roots in literacy and beyond at this daylong event for educators, parents and caregivers. Attend presentations and breakout sessions, network with colleagues and earn contact hour credits on topics ranging from art integration, educational media and STEM curriculum to equity in education and parenting.
