Below is a final reminder about Advanced Placement Exam orders from our NC AP Partnership Senior Director, Kathleen Koch

Submit Final AP Exam Orders and Second-Semester Exam Orders by March 15

March 15, 11:59 p.m. ET, is the deadline to submit updates to your AP® Exam order and any new exam orders for courses that began after November 15.

Use the checklists below to ensure your exam order is complete and accurate by the deadline in AP Registration and Ordering.

By March 15, account for any updates to:

  • Student enrollments: Update students who've enrolled in exam only sections, dropped courses, or have transferred to or out of your school.
  • Exam decisions: Submit new exam orders and cancellations (additional fees apply for year-long or fist semester courses). All students planning to test should have an order exam status of "Yes"—this is particularly important if you set the advanced setting for the student exam decision indicator. Any students with a status of "Undecided" or "No" must have confirmed their intentions with you.
  • Exam materials: Update exam materials for students with approved accommodations, if needed.
  • Late-testing orders: Order alternate exams for any students you know will test during the late-testing window. You can check the student roster for exam conflicts.
  • Master CDs: Order additional master CDs for AP World Languages or AP Music Theory Exams if you plan to administer these exams in multiple testing rooms.

Fee Balances:

As you are reviewing the amount your school owes in APRO, please note that the amount indicated in APRO is what your school will owe, not the state. State exam subsidies are built into the system and are automatically applied. The balance you see should match the amount you have collected for students that are paying for their own exams, along with the amount for any fees that have been incurred. You can find information about exam fees and situations when fees are applied in the 2021-22 AP Coordinator’s Manual, Part 1.

  • If a student paid for their own exam, it should show up as part of what you owe on your screen. The state pays for the exams for students enrolled in the AP course through your school (virtual or face-to-face), but all other exam orders would should show up as part of what your school owes. If the amount you have collected from students who are paying is not showing up as owed on your balance, then you many need to check to see if all exams have been appropriately ordered.

Other Tasks to Do in AP Registration and Ordering by March 15, if Needed

  • Shipping address: Confirm that the shipping address listed on the Orders page is accurate.
  • AP ID label sorting: Select how AP ID label sheets will be sorted when shipped to you (see page 94 in the 2021-22 AP Coordinator’s Manual, Part 1).
