K-12 Science 2021-2022 Webinar Series

CTS K-12 Science Webinar Series

 

This three part webinar series will focus on physical science content within the K-12 Science Essential Standards. Using the Curriculum Topic Study (CTS) process, we will explore Wave concepts identified in the Force and Motion Strand. Over the course of the series, we will address the concept of Waves in order to refine curriculum, improve instructional materials, and maximize assessment.

In preparation:

Target Audience: Individuals seeking to improve content knowledge and science instruction.

In Case You Missed It: K-12 Science Office Hour Session - NC Check Ins (NCCI) for K-12 Science

Office Hours

 

The K-12 Science Team held an office hour session on February 16 from 3:30-4:30.  Joining the Science Team were Test Measurement Specialists from the Testing and Accountability Division to discuss the Science NC Check-ins (NCCI).  information about interpreting the NCCI reports for 5th and 8th grades and Biology were discussed.

Two NC Educators Receive Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching

 

       PAEMST

Two North Carolina elementary school teachers were honored this week as recipients of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the highest award K-12 teachers can receive for instruction in those two subjects by the federal government. In all, 102 teachers nationwide were named by President Joe Biden as 2020 award recipients in an announcement earlier this week.
