Due to decreased sales over the past 4 years and increased printing costs, DPI limited our supply to the minimum 200 copies. If these sell out in the spring, we will decide whether to order another supply, or to direct customers to purchase from the publisher, who is selling the books for $59.00. Purchasing from NCDPI rather than the publisher helps us absorb the cost of producing the book, and could help us lower the cost of the next edition.

Congratulations to Gene Buchanan on his October retirement!
You may have known him for 21 years as the NCDPI Publication Sales manager. Our friend Gene Buchanan retired in October 2021 after 36 years of service to the NC Department of Public Instruction.
Gene was honored with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine award and is excited about travel plans, furthering his education and volunteering with area history museums.
He truly loved working with NCDPI staff and educators to make sure teachers have the resources they need to succeed in the classroom!
