NCDPI LinguaFolio Café next Tuesday

TELL Criteria CO2 on January 18 @ 3:30 - 4:30 pm

NC LinguaFolio webpage

The 2021 - 2022 LinguaFolio Professional Learning Series continues next Tuesday afternoon with the second LinguaFolio Café broadcast starting at 3:30 pm. There's plenty of time to join us by submitting this registration form or by clicking on the LinguaFolio icon.

All teachers and administrators of K-12 language learning programs (ESL and World Languages), as well as post-secondary instructors, professors, and researchers, are welcome.

This year's series of webinars and cafés is focused on sharing best practices about how to use LinguaFolio as a student-centered formative assessment tool aligned to North Carolina’s proficiency-based English Language Development Standards and World Language Essential Standards.

The series will also draw on the Teacher Effectiveness for Language Learning (TELL) Framework, and each 1-hour broadcast will feature TELL criteria from one of the domains and a discussion about how teachers can use the TELL criteria and its sub-criteria to reflect on their pedagogical practices.

The second LinguaFolio café will focus on the TELL Collaboration Domain, specifically CO2.The teacher shares with students how language proficiency develops.

CEU Information

Live broadcasts for LinguaFolio are scheduled on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 4:30 pm, and educators who participate actively in a synchronous session will earn a Certificate of Attendance worth 1 contact hour or 0.1 CEU for license renewal.

The materials and recording from each broadcast (presentation slides, handouts, hyperlinks, etc.) will be posted as archives, so that these resources can be used and/or adapted for local professional development.

The archives will be available for a period of time and can be completed asynchronously to earn a Certificate of Completion worth 1 contact hour or 0.1 CEU for license renewal.

Note: Public School Units (PSUs), or districts and charter schools, must approve professional development offerings in all formats: virtual (synchronous and asynchronous), blended or hybrid, and in-person.
