Board Releases Dashboard as Part of Leandro Remedial Plan

As part of its response to the comprehensive remedial plan for meeting the state’s obligations under the Leandro court case, the State Board of Education has publicly released its data dashboard for users to search and compare district data related to topics such as student discipline, high school dropout rates and more.

The dashboard will allow users to explore datapoints across multiple years, compare data between districts, and offer cross-demographic search capabilities to pinpoint educational inequities that exist in North Carolina.

To the Board, the relationship between data and equity is clear: when educators and decision-makers have easy, reliable access to disaggregated data across several years, then they can quickly identify inequities and make a plan for supporting students negatively impacted by current policies, practices, or programs.

The Board hopes that this tool will provide valuable insight to schools, districts and communities as they work towards creating a more equitable education experience for North Carolina students.
