Network Leader

NC EL Teacher Network Leadership Team

Applications are open now for the 21-22 Leadership Team

The ESL/Title III Team is looking for 10-15 in-service EL teachers to be part of the NC EL Teacher Network Leadership Team during the 2021-2022 school year. In-service EL teachers interested in being part of the Network’s Leadership Team will collaborate as a whole group and within subcommittees to deliver professional learning opportunities targeting EL educators.

Volunteers will meet virtually and collaborate approximately for a number of 5 hours per month to plan and develop the Network's activities. Network Leaders also have the opportunity to attend and present at events at the local and national level.

The NC EL Teacher Network is a community of practice for educators serving English learners in their classrooms. The Network’s Leadership Team consists of EL educators from across the state of North Carolina who come together to plan monthly activities for all members. These activities contribute to educators’ professional development and build their professional learning network as they explore resources, interact with colleagues, and reflect on EL education.

Network leaders receive a letter of recognition for their service. This letter may be used as an artifact for the NC Educator Evaluation process. The work of this Leadership Team is aligned to the NC Professional Teaching Standards (Standard 1: Teachers demonstrate leadership; Standard 2: Teachers establish a respectful environment for a diverse population; Standard 5: Teachers reflect on their practice).

For more specific information, read the Network Leaders’ Scope of Work.

Feel free to contact Xatli.Stox@dpi.nc.gov if you have questions before submitting your application

Applications close on October 15, 2021.
