Administrative Updates

CSAB meetings are streamed live every month on the DPI Youtube page

Meeting agendas are posted to Eboard approximately a week prior to each meeting. 

 

Next meeting is October 11-12th at the DPI Building in Raleigh. 

 

CSAB welcomes its newest members: Mr. Eric Sanchez, Dr. Shelly Bullard, and Dr. John Eldridge.

Applications 2021 Cycle

September Applicants

The board approved Movement School's accelerated application and has requested second interviews with Revitalize Charter and Oak Hill Charter. Those interviews will take place in October. Following all accelerated interviews, recommendations will be forwarded to the State Board of Education for final decisions. All submitted 2021 charter applications are available here


Amendments

September Requests

Metrolina's request to implement a weighted lottery was approved and will head to the SBE in October. Huntersville High School's second delay request is tabled for sixty days. 

 


Charter art

Other Business 

  • NC ACCESS presented its updated timeline, application, and rubric in preparation for its next RFA. 
  • NC Virtual Academy presented its quarterly update. 
  • The new 2021 charter school report was presented to the board. 
  • Rhonda Dillingham (NCAPCS) gave a presentation honoring the 25th Anniversary of Charters in NC Art Contest Winners. OCS is happy to showcase these great student pieces in the DPI building! All winners can be found here
